The Field Of A Human Resource Generalist - 1236 Words

My desired career is that of a human resource generalist. The field of a human resource generalist is responsible for the recruitment, new employee orientation, on-boarding and off-boarding, and prepares and maintain employee handbook of the organization’s workforce. To obtain a position as a human resource generalist, employers look for someone with a bachelor’s degree in human resource management. To obtain a position entering an entry-level HR position most employers will accept someone with a degree in business, accounting, or law, depending on the amount of experience they may have. But to become a top candidate for a human resource position employers look for someone with a master’s degree. The field of human resources can be broken†¦show more content†¦It was founded in 1904 to offer insurance services to its members which include businesses, family, and individuals with strength, protection and vigilance (Sentry). The employees of the company are required to uphold the highest level of ethical conduct. The company has employed a diverse workforce who specialize in different fields to be able to meet the needs of the customers in a more effective manner. Interview Process My main goal during the interview was to identify the roles and responsibilities of the talent advisor and the qualifications and skills required for the position. I was also looking forward to getting more information on what it takes to become a human resource generalist. The interview process with Mrs. Renee Stovall was formal and businesslike since I was meeting her for the first time. We established an opening that consisted of a two-step process with me sharing that I would be asking a series of question and that she could provide me with any information that she would like to share. This assisted me in gaining her attention, and she gladly accepted, so we were able to establish a trust rapport. As the interview process progressed, we became more relaxed, which changed the atmosphere of the interview and there were more verbal and nonverbal information being shared. The interview lasted for approximately fifty minutes and thus, I had to be well organized to be able to get the i nformation that I needed
